Recipes: Fried

1. Breaded Bell Peppers
Slice the Bell Peppers 1" wide
1 Quart of Buttermilk 2x

Flour Coating Ingredient: 
  • 4 cup AP Flour
  • 1 cup Corn starch
  • 2TBS spoons of Italian Seasoning 2x
  • Salt/pepper
Bread Coating 
  • 4 cups of Bread Crumbs  [ or panko]
  • 2 cups of grated Parmesan Cheese 1x
  • grounded onion 
  • salt  
Dip steps
1. Flour Coating
2. Butter milk
3. Flour coating

5. Bread crumb coating 
Put on parchment paper
Freezer after breading
 
2.  Fried Empanada Dough Recipe: 肉馅卷饼





 

Ingredients:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup cold water (add more if needed)
  • 1 tbsp vinegar (white or apple cider)
Instructions:
1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
2. Add Butter: Cut in the cold butter using your hands or a pastry cutter until the mixture is crumbly.
3. Add Wet Ingredients
  • In a small bowl, beat the egg with the water and vinegar.
  • Pour into the flour mixture and stir until a dough forms.
4. Knead & Rest
  • Knead gently until smooth (2-3 minutes).
  • Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (this helps it roll out better).
5. Roll & Fill
  • Roll out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8-inch thick.
  • Cut into circles (about 4-6 inches in diameter).
  • Fill with your choice of savory or sweet filling.
6. Seal & Fry
  • Fold over into a half-moon shape and seal the edges by pressing with a fork or crimping.
  • Fry in hot oil (350°F/175° C) for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
Empanada Fillings 
1. Beef
Ground beef or chopped steak
Onions
Hard-boiled eggs
Green olives
Raisins (optional but traditional!)
Cumin, paprika, salt, pepper
2. Chicken & Cheese
Shredded rotisserie chicken
Cream cheese or mozzarella
Garlic, onion, bell pepper
Cilantro or parsley
3. Ham & Cheese
Diced ham
Mozzarella or provolone
A little béchamel sauce for creaminess
4. Spinach & Ricotta
Cooked spinach (drained well)
Ricotta cheese
Nutmeg, garlic, salt, pepper
Parmesan (optional for extra umami)
5. Chorizo & Potato
Cooked chorizo (crumbled)
Mashed or diced potato
Onion, smoked paprika
6. Caprese
Cherry tomatoes (halved)
Fresh mozzarella
Basil leaves
Balsamic reduction (drizzle after baking)
Sweet Fillings
1. Dulce de Leche
Just dulce de leche - keep it simple
Dust with powdered sugar after baking
2. Apple Cinnamon
Diced apples
Brown sugar, cinnamon, butter
Raisins or walnuts (optional)
3. Guava & Cream Cheese
Guava paste
Cream cheese
4. Banana & Nutella
Sliced bananas
Nutella
Sprinkle of sea salt for balance
